You are to create a short booklet of original poems, taking care to create a product that is polished and attractive. You are welcome to indulge your artistic nature to enhance the final product.
You will be graded on:
-how effectively you use poetic devices such as: metaphor, simile, alliteration, personification, rhyme, and onomatopoeia.
-your ability to apply proper formatting, for example: do your haiku's have the correct syllable pattern? Have you used a rhyming scheme in your limerick?
-how effectively you communicate. Is your writing free of spelling, capitalization, punctuation and grammar errors? Do your words flow well? Is what you have written understandable?
-the degree to which you create a product that enhances your writing through the use of illustrations and/or formatting, choice of font and/or color. To explain using a simile, it's like making a picture nicer by putting a good frame around it.

1 Limerick
1 12 line, 3 stanza poem on a topic of your choice with a rhyming pattern of ABAB
1 Free-verse poem on a topic of your choice
